About Us

Ken and Betty’s key passions and callings include the following:

1. To assist in raising up a “House(s) of Prayer” in the spirit of the tabernacle of David, in which the regional church unites in worship and intercession to give Jesus His rightful place of Preeminence in our region.

2. Walking with and strengthening pastors and leaders in the challenges they face, and working for the Psalm 133 unity of the regional church through relationship.

3. See the Church awaken to wholehearted love for the Son of God, through the knowledge of God, thus putting the first commandment first in a people of “one thing”.
* Psa 27:4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And inquire in His temple.

4. Equip believers to overcome, and grow up into Christ, coming to full maturity through the abiding (“engrafted”) word of God and to walk worthy their identity as “sons of God”. * 1 John 2:14; Col 1:28

5. Pursuing God’s heart for Israel and an understanding of Her role in God’s end-time purposes, and “preparing the way of the LORD” according to Isa 40:1-9.

* Rom 11:11-27; Eph 2:15.

Called to pastor the Hampden Mennonite Church (now Destiny Christian Ministries) in 1979, Ken and Betty sold their home in the country and moved to Reading, PA in 1982. They raised their 5 children there while pastoring the church. In addition to pastoring, Ken gave oversight to a number of churches in the denomination for several years.

In 2000 Ken and Betty were commissioned out to serve an emerging regional network of churches that was connecting relationally across denominational lines. Ken is presently on the leadership team of that network, the Reading Regional Transformation Network (RRTN). He also walks with numerous other pastors and leaders in the region who have a desire to see the Body of Christ come together for kingdom purposes. As part of the regional vision, Ken also helped establish and direct the Reading House of Prayer (RHOP).

Ken and Betty established Behold Your God Ministries in 2008, and now preach, teach and equip throughout the region in the arenas of corporate prayer, Biblical unity, knowing God and the coming kingdom. Ken remains engaged in prayer-leading at the RHOP prayer room and is actively training teams of intercessors in the harp and bowl model (Rev 5:8) of corporate prayer (and other models), in order to see RHOP’s vision of night and day prayer established throughout Reading and Berks County.
